We will always try to find a place for you in game play, please understand you can not walk off the street, and be in-charge or perform a specialty roll .

Dropping Purple Smoke with in ARMA a Military Simulation unit. The meaning of this tends to vary within the ARMA community there are many units offering competing levels of tactical realism and bureaucratic simulation.

To us this means that we use proper military tactics while in game, we do have rank, but primary to define roles within the game we do not desire or expect saluted or to be called sir.

• • View is restricted to first-person, except when in vehicles.

  • Advanced ACE Medical Simulation with KAT

  • ACE Advanced Medical is used, with an Advanced CPR mod.

  • Gear is handled via a restricted arsenal, available in-mission at deployment zones.

  • Re-spawns and join-in-progress is generally allowed, and handled by Zeus.

  • In addition to the server mod list, some client-side modifications are allowed.

  • Personal Arsenal is not allowed under any circumstances.

  • In Game abilities are assigned based on the training you have attended

  • Support services such as artillery and CAS require skill and training to utilize

We understand that ARMA is just a game and as such you might not always be able to attend. We never want you to be in a position where you are sacrificing your real life activities to meet our requirements and we implement strong redundancy plans at every level of the chain of command so that absence does not affect the wider group.

However, we also encourage you to think about the good of the unit when you need to be absent and consider stepping down from your position to take a Leave of Absence in the event that life takes an unforeseen turn.

Please just communicate, use the discord so that as a unit we have proper expectations.

Promotions are solely based on training and slots.

IE. you can get promoted up to Sergeant based on training but to be promoted to Lieutenant you have to be chosen and there has to be an available slot

Custom nicknames and call-signs are accepted, but must be exactly the same on Teamspeak, Discord, and in the game, and fit in with the following guidelines:

    2. No ridiculous combinations of words. Example: "bigbaddaddybubblelover" (we have to be able to say it on the radio with out laughing)

    3. No self promotion of services. Example: "buymycampics.TV"

    4. Not be stupid !

    5. If using first initial and last name, there must be a space after the period. Example: J. (Space) Doe

Multi-Clanning is allowed.

To be honest we do not care, but if you disrespect Dropping Purple Smoke try to poach, or fail to follow any of the unit rules, you will be shown the door in accordance with the disciplinary policies.

REAL LIFE FIRST

If your can not make an op or training just please tell us, there is no issue with you having a life, just an issue with allowing us to expect your attendance and not showing.

NO DRAMA POLICY

This is the catch all policy, we understand there are issues from time to time, but when the staff has to start asking what have they done now after every time they hear your name, it's an issue.

The Detachment leaders are responsible for the conduct of there members .

RESPONSIBILITY OF MEMBERS

It is the duty and the responsibility of every member of theDropping Purple Smoke to be aware of and abide by existing policies and rules.

THREE (3) STRIKES POLICY

Unless specified otherwise, any violation of the Dropping Purple Smoke Rules will be disciplined using a “Three Strikes System”.

First Offense

You will receive a verbal warning from your Detachment Leader

Second Offense

You will receive a verbal warning from your Detachment Leader and staff members. And PM on discord with the warning in writing.

Third Offense

This is where we show you the door, ban you, kick you to the curb, remove you from the roster, and speak ill of from this day hence.

Transfers

Are allowed, its your free time you should play with a group of folks you want to play with.

but that being said here are the rules.

• • Speak with your current Detachment Leader before you speak to another Detachment, lets be respectful if its something that can be fixed please give the Detachment leader a chance to fix it.

  • Detachment leaders are not allowed to ask members of another Detachment if they want to transfer.
